1. Who handles your information
Vozua Holdings Ltd operates Vozua SMS. We use account and operational information to provide and secure the service. For contact lists and message content uploaded by a business customer, that customer determines the recipients and purpose; Vozua processes the information to carry out the customer’s messaging instructions.
Questions about your Vozua account or this notice can be sent to support@vozua.com. If you receive a message from another business using Vozua, that business is the first contact for its customer list, consent and marketing preferences. We can also investigate reports of misuse.
2. Information we process
Account details include your name, email, phone number, country, organisation and authentication information. Messaging records can include recipient numbers, contact groups, templates, message content, Sender ID applications, sample messages, delivery status and related timestamps. Payment records include amounts, country, currency, transaction references and confirmation status.
Technical records may include IP address, browser or app details, session identifiers and security or error logs. Support correspondence is retained to handle requests. We do not need your mobile-money PIN or Google password; do not include them in messages to support.
3. Why information is used
We use information to create and authenticate accounts, maintain country-specific credit balances, process payments, submit and track Sender ID requests, route messages, return delivery reports, provide support and detect fraud or misuse. Account and service notifications include payment confirmations, security alerts and Sender ID status updates.
Processing is based on the service you request, legal duties where they apply, appropriate operational and security interests, or consent where required. Marketing preferences and permissions are separate from essential account messages. Customers must establish an appropriate basis for the recipients and content they submit.
4. Android contacts, Google and device login
The Android app requests contacts permission when you choose to use your phonebook. You may refuse or revoke it in device settings. Contact details you select for a message or import are sent to Vozua to complete that action; opening the app does not require you to import your entire address book.
If you choose Google sign-in, we receive the identity details authorised by that sign-in flow, such as your name and email. Google handles your Google password. If device biometric sign-in is available and enabled, fingerprint or face matching is handled by the device; Vozua does not receive your fingerprint image or biometric template.
5. Providers and international processing
To deliver the service, relevant information is shared with the SMS gateways and mobile networks serving the destination, payment providers confirming your transaction, and infrastructure or support providers involved in operating the platform. Recipient numbers, Sender IDs and message content must reach the messaging route for delivery.
Data may be processed in more than one country depending on the hosting, destination network or provider. Transfers must follow applicable safeguards and legal requirements. We may also disclose information where legally required, to address fraud or protect security. This notice does not authorise customers to reuse recipient lists for unrelated purposes.
6. Cookies, retention and security
Session cookies and saved preferences support sign-in, language and the selected theme. The app may keep session credentials and recent screen information to support secure access and avoid unnecessary reloads. You can manage browser storage and device permissions, but removing session data may sign you out.
Information is kept for the service, support, security, accounting and legal purposes for which it is needed. Retention can differ between message records, transactions, logs and backups. A deletion request is assessed against those obligations; some records may need to be retained or removed through backup rotation. Access controls, secure connections and password hashing help protect accounts, but no service can promise absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request information about processing, access or correction of your personal data, deletion, restriction or objection to certain uses, and withdrawal of consent where processing relies on it. Send requests to support@vozua.com using your account email; describe the request without including passwords or payment PINs. We may verify identity and explain any lawful limits or records we must retain.
You may also raise a concern with the relevant data protection authority. In Tanzania this is the Personal Data Protection Commission; in Kenya, the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. If the data belongs to a business customer’s recipient list, we may refer or coordinate the request with that customer.
8. Updates and contact
We update this notice when relevant practices or service features change. The policy version records an actual revision; the automatically displayed daily date is provided for reference and does not imply a new policy each day. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
